Cecil Baldwin And ‘Welcome To Night Vale’ Invade ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’

Stephen Colbert has had no shortage of interesting, non-traditional guests on his version of The Late Show to this point. Earlier this week, we saw an entire orchestra devoted to the music of The Legend Of Zelda and now we’re taking a trip to the strangest town on the face of the planet. Joseph Fink and Jeffrey Cranor, the creators of Welcome To Nightvale stopped by to talk about the upcoming book based on the popular podcast and to give the audience a taste of what the show is all about.

That means Cecil Baldwin makes an appearance and Colbert pulls out his old-timey radio to tune in. If you’ve never listened to the podcast, you’re missing out. This is a nice introduction if you’re curious, but I would also suggest just listening to the actual show on iTunes. The community calendar, the weather report, the weird floating orbs and hooded figures making people disappear. You’ll get hooked. Just don’t head over to that town of assh*les, Desert Bluffs. They’re the Shelbyville of the Night Vale universe and they deserve all the derision you can muster. Maybe an evil curse too, although there might already be one in play somewhere else in the town.
