What's On Tonight: 'Adventure Time'!

Adventure Time (Cartoon, 7:30 p.m.) — Due to this show’s pre-primetime timeslot, we rarely discuss it, but Adventure Time is one of the funniest, strangest, and imaginative animated series on TV. Don’t believe me? One of its main characters, a dog, is based on a Bill Murray character. No, not Scrooge(d).

Monday Night Football: Philadelphia Eagles vs. New England Patriots (ESPN, 8 p.m.) — Remember when everyone thought Donovan McNabb puked when these two teams played in the Super Bowl because he’s puked during games before, until it turned out he didn’t actually puke? Good times.

Grimm (NBC, 10 p.m.) — “Nick and his mother battle the Mauvais Dentes,” which sounds like the name of a vagina disease only elderly aunts get, but it’s actually in reference to a “saber-toothed tiger-like Wesen,” which itself is in reference to a “term used to describe the creatures visible to the Grimms,” which itself is in reference to…it should have just been the vagina thing.

The Inbetweeners (MTV, 10:30 p.m.) — This remake, about a group of suburban high school students, is getting mixed reviews, with no one claiming that its better than the beloved British original. The positive: it’s not worse than the abortion known as MTV’s Skins. Also, Brett Gelman’s on it, and that’s always a good thing.

Web Therapy (Showtime, 11 p.m.) — Oh, hey, Conan O’Brien guest appearance.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Kelsey Grammer, Olivia Munn, and Train on Letterman; Maya Rudolph and Jeff Foxworthy on Leno; Tom Arnold and Ashley Greene on Kimmel; and Liv Tyler and Maria Sharapova on Fallon.
