What’s On Tonight: We’ll Probably All Be Watching The News

The News (CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, etc., all night) — Following the explosions in Boston today, tonight’s one of those nights where we’ll probably all be watching a lot of news coverage.

Oh Sit! (The CW, 8 p.m.) — In a clear response to the Saturday premiere of ABC’s Bet on Your Baby, in which grown ass adults placed wagers on their babies doing baby things, the CW is laying down the law and proudly proclaiming, “No, WE have the worst show on TV.” Thus, Oh Sit! returns for season two.

How I Met Your Mother (CBS, 8 p.m.) — “Lily worries Marshall will resent her if she accepts The Captain’s offer to move to Rome for a year.” Maybe she can take Jim with her, and Marshall and Pam can hook up.

Defiance (Syfy, 9 p.m.) — Series premiere. Set in 2046, after aliens and Earthlings have made first contact, Grant Bowler stars as a “lawman” who helps keep the peace between the two races. With Julie Benz.

Top of the Lake (Sundance, 9 p.m.) — Two-hour series finale. Check back here after the episode airs; we’ll have a mini-recap/discussion section for those who care about Peggy Olson solving crimes, y’all.

Bates Motel (A&E, 10 p.m.) — Last week, Mama Bates yelled, “I killed the crap out of him!” That is beautiful.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Jennifer Hudson, Bob Saget, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs on Kimmel; Rob Lowe on Ferguson; and Jeff Goldblum on Conan.
