What’s On Tonight: ‘Fargo’ And ‘Jane The Virgin’ Are Back

Fargo (FX, 10 p.m.) – Season two kicks off with a shooting at a diner disrupting the citizens of a small Minnesota town. Ever since True Detective, we’ve been a bit apprehensive about sophomore seasons of surprise breakout hits but apparently it’s okay to get your hopes up for this one. Besides boasting a pretty stellar cast – Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson and even Nick Offerman all get some screen time – the show’s first few episodes look promising.

Jane the Virgin (CW, 9 p.m.) – Season two kicks off with Mateo being kidnapped and held for ransom, Jane seeking parenting advice from her mother and grandmother – which makes her baby-daddy feel insecure for some reason – and Petra struggling with what to do about that pesky, left-over sperm problem.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (CW, 8 p.m.) – A look at what happens when a successful, semi-sane lawyer quits her job, moves to California, and stalks her college boyfriend all while performing intricate song and dance routines.

Dancing With the Stars (ABC, 8 p.m.) – The competitors switch partners this week and Paula Deen is not happy about it.

Gotham (Fox, 8 p.m.) – Nygma and Kringle go out on a date; Gordon forms a new task force; and Penguin makes good on his promise to Galavan.

MLB Playoff: Game 3: Dodgers at Mets (TBS, 8 p.m.) – The Dodgers travel to the Mets for Game 3 of a National League Division Series. This will be interesting to anyone who actually likes watching baseball.

The Big Bang Theory (CBS, 8 p.m.) – Sheldon reverts back to his old self – circa 2003 – when he discovers the shocking news that Penny and Leonard will be moving in together after getting hitched. Meanwhile, Raj and Howard are busy gathering band members for their upcoming gig at a comic book store.

The Voice (NBC, 8 p.m.) – We’ve finally made it to the battle rounds which means more musical talent displayed by our Average Joe contestants but, more importantly, some high-profile celebrity cameos. First up: Missy Elliott and Selena Gomez.

WWE Monday Night Raw (USA, 8 p.m.) – Kane is still stalking Seth Rollins and we get a glimpse of what’s to come between Brock Lesnar and Undertaker.

Awkward (MTV, 9 p.m.) – Episode title: “The Big Reveal.” Episode description: “Jenna wants to tell Matty the truth.” I wonder what’s going to happen there.

Minority Report (Fox, 9 p.m.) – Dash goes undercover to catch a woman looking to exact some vengeance for her sister’s murder, while Agatha sets her plan into motion.

Scorpion (CBS, 9 p.m.) – Walter, Cabe, and Happy spend a little quality time together while trapped in a submarine with a limited oxygen supply that has propelled itself to the bottom of the ocean.

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS, 10 p.m.) – Remember that movie with Colin Farrell where he’s in a phone booth receiving creepy commands from Kiefer Sutherland? That’s basically the premise for tonight’s episode.

Blindspot (NBC, 10 p.m.) – Jane finds out she has one of those cool black light tattoos. Unfortunately the tat leads the team to the CDC where they find out a disease sample is missing.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Kirsten Dunst on Kimmel; Clive Owen and Gabrielle Union on Fallon; Carey Mulligan and Elvis Costello on Colbert; Olivia Wilde and Grant Gustin on Meyers; Aaron Sorkin on Corden; and Ta-Nehisi Coates on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Conan is a repeat.
