What’s On Tonight: ‘Greatest Hits’ Takes On The ’80s And Netflix Premieres ‘Stranger Things’

Stranger Things (Netflix) — Netflix’s latest original series is just eight episodes long — the perfect length to binge-watch over the weekend — but it’s chock full of ’80s nostalgia. Think the best of Steven Spielberg and Stephen King wrapped up in a mysterious government investigation. When a young boy goes missing, his mother — Winona Ryder, everyone — is desperate to find him. It’s the show you never knew you needed.

Greatest Hits (ABC, 9:00 p.m.) — Awww yeah. We’re going back to the ’80s tonight. Bret Michaels, Kenny Loggins, a Bon Jovi cover or two, Wilson Phillips and a look back at Tawny Kitaen in that Whitesnake video are all on the menu tonight.

BattleBots (ABC, 8:00 p.m.) — The NFL’s Vernon Davis returns for the second night of this three-night event where 32 teams attempt to advance out of the qualifying round.

Bones (Fox, 8:00 p.m.) — Hodgins becomes paranoid that a ghost may be following him; Booth learns he has an eye ailment; and a descendant of French nobility is the suspect in his wife’s murder when her body turns up at a glass recycling plant.

WWE Smackdown (USA, 8:00 p.m.) — WWE Champion Dean Ambrose partners with Sami Zayn to battle Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens in a tag team match as Shane McMahon makes sure everyone knows he’s in charge.

Beauty and the Beast (CW, 9:00 p.m.) — Vincent and Cat double their efforts to bring down beast hunters. While Cat tries to smuggle information at work, Vincent infiltrates a private army.

Big Brother (CBS, 9:00 p.m.) — Another house guest gets evicted tonight.

Home Free (Fox, 9:00 p.m.) — One couple gets a red card as Mike ups his standards and the contestants continue to sharpen their skills.

Aquarius (NBC, 10:00 p.m.) — The Manson family receives both a blessing and a threat as Hodiak runs into some roadblocks while investigating the photograph killer and a shootout impacts Shafe’s marriage.

Queen of the South (USA, 10:00 p.m.) — While Brenda and Tony escape to Dallas, Teresa goes on her first solo drug run, but things don’t work out as planned.

Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll (FX, 10:00 p.m.) — Noah and Bam work to convince Rehab to support “Feast” and Flash steps up his game after Gigi’s latest drama.
