What's On Tonight: The Finale Of 'The Americans' And An Awesome HBO Documentary On The Hunt For Bin Laden

The Americans (FX, 10 p.m.) – Season finale. The first season of this show has been really solid, and based on the whispers I’ve been hearing about the finale — Look at me! Like a real TV writer! — it looks like it will end on a high note. Speaking of shows that ended their first season on a high note, I miss Terriers. No, I will never let that go.

Manhunt (HBO, 8 p.m.) – We’ve had the pleasure of seeing this documentary, about the women who helped identify and track down Osama Bin Laden, and it’s awesome. You should watch it. Here’s a rather glowing review from The New York Times if you need further convincing.

Modern Family (ABC, 9 p.m.) – I like to poke fun at Modern Family for following the same basic formula in almost every episode, but the truth is that I still enjoy watching it. Guinness has used the same recipe for hundreds of years. Still tastes good to me.

Nashville (ABC, 10 p.m.) – Let’s just take this show and Smash, roll them into one big ball, toss them out west, and call it White People Singing: Las Vegas.

Psych (10 p.m.) – From TV Guide: “Shawn looks into the mayor’s death, which appears to be a surfing accident, and ends up running for office in the process.” I’m not entirely sure I didn’t black out one night and write this episode. Can’t rule it out.

LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Pierce Brosman and Greta Gerwig on Kimmel; Tobey Maguire on Letterman; Michael Ian Black and Lena Headey on Ferguson; Kathy Griffin and Eli Roth on Leno; Ben Kingsley and Kal Penn on Fallon; and Jon Favreau and Bo Burnham on Conan.
