Will Forte And Jason Sudeikis Belted Out REO Speedwagon With Jimmy Fallon

If you’re a fan of mid-’80s power ballads and mid-2000s Saturday Night Live cast members, last night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon had a major treat for you. Will Forte was in the midst of an interview when Fallon asked him if he’d be interested in singing a tune. Forte initially refused, at which point Fallon noted the obviousness of what was about to ensue by noting there was already a microphone waiting for him. Shortly after, a second mic was brought out, and Forte was joined by his former SNL cohort Jason Sudeikis, and the two proceed to tear into a killer rendition of REO Speedwagon’s “Can’t Fight This Feeling.” Technically, I believe this would qualify as a Jon Bovi reunion.

It’s worth noting, Sudeikis actually reveals himself to be a skilled crooner here, as he gives the song an added bit of soul. Forte, on the other hand, is his usual demented self, as he approaches the song as aggressively as possible, sounding a bit like a potential serial killer when yells “AND I CAN’T FIGHT THIS FEELING ANYMORE!” Of course, being gloriously weird has always been a big part of Forte’s appeal, going back to his days as Tim Calhoun. On the show, we only saw the first verse and chorus, but in the above clip, you can watch them perform the entire song, while Jimmy joins in for the second half.
