The Reason Katee Sackhoff Wasn’t Cast As Wonder Woman Is Because People Are Dumb

It’s probably for the best, seeing how Adrianne Palicki’s version of Wonder Woman in David E. Kelley’s failed TV show turned out (so bad, so terribly, terribly bad) but believe it or not, Battlestar Galactica and Longmire actress, Katee Sackhoff, actually lobbied heavily for that role. In an interview with Total Film, she revealed why she didn’t get the part, and it’s basically the dumbest reason ever.

From TF:

“I’d love to play Wonder Woman. I remember auditioning for the Wonder Woman television show and being told that I wasn’t the Wonder Woman type, but if I wanted to play the best friend, I could audition for that,” Sackhoff said in a new interview with Total Film.

“And I remember thinking to myself, ‘You obviously haven’t seen my work!’ [laughs]”

She’s not the type? You mean, she’s not skinny, tall, and brunette? Because few people capture the “warrior” spirit of warrior princess of Amazon more than Sackhoff, who — as much as I like Palicki — could kick her ass three times over and then enjoy a shot off of her crumpled body. And even if you don’t buy into the fact that Sackhoff could’ve been a great Wonder Woman, you really have to agree that she’s a best friend role to nobody, except Tricia Helfer. Nude. On a calendar.

Alas, Sackhoff continues to be mired in good B-shows like Longmire and decent B-movies like the Riddick series, but she really deserves her own feature film. Few actresses have both the beauty, the attitude, and the physicality that Sackhoff possesses, and it should be put to much better use.
