Yo, high five to whoever invented cortisone injections.
Why? Well Deron Williams has been ballin’ pretty hard since he got some fresh shots after the break. Yet it remained evident something else fueled Deron’s long bomb tirade against the Wiz Kids Friday night. Williams drained an NBA first-half record nine threes with seven straight in the first quarter. Two subsequent threes in the second half tied the NBA record for total triples in a game – shared by Donyell Marshall, J.R. Smith and Kobe Bryant.
Deron’s record night saw him finish with 42 points, five dimes* and 11-16 shooting from beyond the arc. The Nets later relied on Deron’s torrential, first-half scoring. Brooklyn followed with only 36 points in the second half complete with Washington’s desperate Hack-A-Reggie tactics down the stretch.
Everything turned out alright in the end, though. Brooklyn got the win and Deron secured his spot in history. Now watch the highlights and marvel at his high-quality sniping, please.
* – He didn’t pass enough.
