The Creator Of ‘Terriers’ Mom Owns The Terrier That Won The Westminster Dog Show

As you may have heard, the winner of last night’s Westminster Dog Show was a five-year-old Wire Fox Terrier named Sky, with its beardy little face and feetless little legs. What you probably didn’t know, however, is that Sky was raised by the mother of television writer and producer Shawn Ryan, creator of both Terriers and The Shield. Oh yeah, that sound you just heard? Was that your mind being blown. Yeah, it was.

Shawn took to Twitter to congratulate his mom:

Via the New York Times:

Soon after winning her prize, Sky patiently posed for dozens of photographers who snapped photographs of her at the center of the Garden floor. She put her paws in the silver-plated winner’s bowl at one point, and later licked the face of her handler, Gabriel Rangel.

Rangel would have taken Sky home on Wednesday if she had lost, but as the winner she will appear on a host of television shows, make an appearance at the Empire State Building and have a steak, or anything else she wants as her reward, at Sardi’s.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t think the universe has ever so loudly or succinctly shouted a message and that message is BRING BACK TERRIERS.
