Courtney Love, who somehow believes she had something to do with the brilliance of Kurt Cobain during his life, is rejecting the idea of her joining Nirvana for a reunion ahead of their induction at the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. That would be like Yoko Ono joining The Beatles or one of the Big Bad Beetleborgs joining the Power Rangers. From The Telegraph:
Courtney Love glances at a news feed on her phone. “Nirvana to reunite with Courtney Love as singer,” she reads aloud. “Yeah, that’ll be the day,” she snorts. “It’s just nonsense.”
When her late husband’s seminal grunge band are inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York, on Thursday, April 10th, mother and daughter will collect the award on Cobain’s behalf, alongside surviving band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoslevic. “I wasn’t in Nirvana, but it’s what widows and kids do. And it does give me ownership of the mythology, rather than just handing over to Krist and Dave their ownership.”
Ugh, she shouldn’t be on that stage, or any stage, ever. But her daughter should be up there alongside Grohl and Novoslevic. That sounds right and would make a nice moment.
The key quote to take away from this though is, “I wasn’t in Nirvana.” No, you weren’t. You were in Hole and you were a thorn in Madonna’s side, but you were not in Nirvana. Ever. Please stop acting like it is your band.
You were also in The People vs. Larry Flynt and that movie was awesome. So, I don’t know, maybe stick to acting?
