Chevy released this “A Best Friend For Life’s Journey” commercial last week, which depicts the friendship between a young woman and her dog throughout the years, moving backwards. Maybe it’s because I’m in my 30’s and my best friend of twelve years, an Australian Shepherd named Sophie, is starting to show signs of her age — but this commercial had me reduced to a blubbery, teary snotting mess all morning. Can someone please explain to me what’s going on here in the beginning and end of the video? Is she at the vet because she’s putting the dog down? Why else would they show this twice? I don’t understand what’s happening!!!! Great, now I’m crying again. NOT COOL, CHEVY. Comparing your vehicles to the UNRELENTING LOVE OF MAN’S BEST FRIEND isn’t going to sell cars, it’s just going to put everyone in a goddamn fetal position for the rest of the day.
