Jack Hyer is basically Ted Mosby.
Let me explain: after his first date with his girlfriend, Becca Strellnauer, Hyer knew he was going to marry her (like Ted). So every time he visited a new country (26 in total, over a four-year span), he added footage to his proposal video, set to the Proclaimers’ “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” (Ted’s favorite song). When Hyer proposed, he told Strellnauer, “The greatest adventure in my life is [you] and now I want to travel with [you] as opposed to alone” (which is totally something Ted would say).
And then she died, and Hyer hooked up with his original girlfriend. And that, kids, is how Jack Hyer met your mother.

The song rules. But tell me how a college student could afford to do all that traveling (especially while in school)?

So basically, this guy travelled the world and made selfie videos lip synching to this song. When someone asked him,
“what are you going to do with all this useless shitty footage”
he was like -” i don’t know, how about i pretend I did this all for that chick i’ve been dating…?”

I’m going to take a video everyday for 4 years, lip-syncing to “I Don’t Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me)”. It’ll slowly show my deterioration from crack cocaine abuse. At least I’ll have it planned ahead, unlike this douchebag.
It would have been incredible if after all of this effort she said no.
