20 Insane Al Pacino GIFs For His Most Insane Role Yet

In recent years, Al Pacino, when not shooting large amounts of highly hallucogenic lizard semen into his eye sockets, has taken a shine for playing controversial figures. In 2004, he was “Shady Shylock,” as his friends knew him, in The Merchant in Venice; in 2010, Dr. Death Kevorkian in You Don’t Know Jack; and hopefully this year, literal lady-killer Phil Spector in a still-untitled biopic, to say nothing of that time he played a guy nicknamed Rooster in a movie with 50 Cent. But that’s all kid’s stuff compared to Pacino’s next gig:

ICM Partners next week will be taking a package for a movie about former Penn State head football coach Joe Paterno, with Al Pacino attached to play the man called JoePa by most students at Happy Valley. The package will be built around Joe Posnanski’s biography Paterno, which is now atop the New York Times Bestseller List in its second week. (Via)

Paterno’s late-in-life incoherent ramblings are going to sound great coming from Pacino, who’s at his best when he’s shouting nonsense. In honor of JoePa, which should win all the Oscars and/or Emmys, here are 20 GIFs from throughout Pacino’s great (ass) career that feature him either looking or saying (or both) completely insane things. HOO-AH.
