On her website, Rebecca Francis writes that “life is so short and so wonderful that I don’t want to miss out on a single second.” She fills up her days with writing, working as a guide for Alaska Outfitters, mountaineering, and pissing off Ricky Gervais by posing with dead animals.
Utah-born Francis is a proud hunter who’s killed elk, deer, bears, moose, and giraffe, the “beautiful animal” that she shot in Africa and took a smiling photo with. In a rare moment of not tweeting about being an atheist, Gervais criticized Francis to his millions of followers.

Francis, who won a reality show called Extreme Huntress in 2010, responded to the threats by telling Hunting Life, “[African locals] asked me if I would preserve this giraffe by providing all the locals with food and other means of survival. He was inevitably going to die soon and he could either be wasted or utilized by the local people. I chose to honor his life by providing others with his uses and I do not regret it for one second… I am grateful to be a part of something so good.”
If she and Kendall Jones ever meet, they’ll make at least five animals extinct.
