Two years after coming out as a transgender woman in April of 2015 on the cover of Vanity Fair, Caitlyn Jenner has revealed that she has undergone sex reassignment surgery. She writes about her decision to go through the procedure, in her new memoir out later this month, The Secrets of My Life. The former I Am Cait star writes that she had the final surgery completed in January of 2017.

Gender reassignment surgery is often times a very private matter that many trans people rightfully feel is nobody’s business, however Jenner says that her reason for opening up about what she calls a “complex decision” is because she “believes in candor,” and wants everyone to stop staring at her.

“I am telling you because I believe in candor,” she explains. “So all of you can stop staring. You want to know, so now you know. Which is why this is the first time, and the last time, I will ever speak of it.”

But, she says she still considers going under the knife to have “all the right parts.”

“So why even consider it? Because it’s just a penis. It has no special gifts or use for me other tan what I have said before, the ability to take a whiz in the woods,” the former I Am Cait star tells fans. “I just want to have all the right parts. I am also tired of tucking the damn thing in all the time.”

Not for nothing, but what some of us wouldn’t give for the ability to “take a whiz in the woods.” But either way, she’ll probably be happy to learn that they make products for that.

Obviously this is not Jenner’s first time under the knife. In addition to the cosmetic surgery she had when she was still living as Bruce, Jenner underwent breast augmentation and facial feminization surgery as part of her initial transition to Caitlyn in March of 2015.
