A Bullied Young Boy Grew His Hair For Two Years To Donate To Child Cancer Patients

For two years, Christian McPhilamy, after seeing a commercial for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, grew out his locks. The now-8-year-old told his mom Deeanna he wanted to donate his hair to Children With Hair Loss, whose goal is to “assist as many [children] as possible in changing their lives by improving their outlook and empowering them with a degree of self-confidence that will allow them to face the world with renewed self-esteem.”

Despite constant teasing from his peers, McPhilamy, who lives in Melbourne, Florida, finally accomplished his mission: He donated four, 10-inch ponytails, according to Mashable.

“I was blown away,” Deeanna told Today. “Usually when Christian sets his mind to something, he pretty much goes with it. He doesn’t let anything falter his goals. I was pretty confident that he was actually going to follow through with it.” (Via Mashable)

Christian’s shirt is spot on.
