Justin Bieber has won over a lot of the #haterz this year. Funny how that often coincidences with recording music that doesn’t make listeners want to smash their car speakers. But Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, is no Belieber. On his YouTube channel, the EDM performer discussed his many-months feud with Skrillex, which he says goes back to Justin Bieber.
Earlier this year, Skrillex said that while he’ll “always have love for Joel because he put me on at an early time,” he’s “an asshole. And everyone knows that, and he knows that. And that’s kinda his thing.” Deadmau5 quickly responded on Twitter, writing: “so YES @skrillex im SUPER SAD im not as cheerful, and super inspired by life like you. and im so SORRY im an asshole. but how about… you let me worry about that sh*t.”
He’s also not a fan of Bieber’s “Where Are Ü Now,” which Skrillex and Diplo produced. That brings us to the aforementioned, swear-filled video, and his opinion of “meat puppet” Bieber in general. Spoiler: It’s not positive.
“I can accept that his album is probably good, I have no qualms with that, I know decent production when I hear it. That’s not what I’m mad about. What I’m mad about is that none of it is this little f*cking dickhead’s. You get what I’m saying? ‘This is my album’. No it’s not your f*cking album, its Skrilllex’ f*cking album, its f*cking god knows who’s album.”
And:
“I can credit you, to be able to hold a pitch on two syllables throughout an entire 75-minute long f*cking album. If that’s the credit you deserve, that’s the credit you get. You didn’t make any of this f*cking sh*t. You just basically jumped into a sh*t-hot f*cking scene which is trappy dubsteppy Diplo thing and you just f*cking took it and you Will.I.Am’d it, and they let you do it. That’s what pisses me off. Thats what makes me an angry Twitter guy when it comes to those dudes.”
And:
“It’s not that I hate Skrillex, and I hate the sh*t he does… I hate that he allowed himself to be a goddamn tool for someone else. But I can’t be too much of an ass about it…he likes to do it, he’s a f*cking little hippy and loves working with people, and that’s his thing. I can respect that.”
“You Will.I.Am’d it” is the meanest insult I’ve ever heard.
