‘Far Cry 3’ Goes Bonkers, ’80s With ‘Blood Dragon’

Apparently somebody over at Ubisoft has decided the ’80s should never have ended, and that’s going to spill over into Far Cry 3. Yes, Blood Dragon is not a joke. It’s actually real.

This trailer should really tell you everything you need to know:

OK, that’s not very informative. Have a plot summary off the hilariously ugly website:

The year is 2007. It is the future. Earth has been ravaged by a nuclear war and new paths for peace must be found. A U.S. cyborg army may have found a solution: a powerful bioweapon on a distant island. A Mark IV Cyber Commando, Sergeant Rex Power Colt has been sent over to gather information and figure out what the hell is going on.

You should also poke around the website, because hidden amid the gags are items like cuts from the expansion’s soundtrack.

The game itself has some solid bones to build on, so any sort of ’80s cheesefest the team at Ubisoft wants to build will be a fun game. We just hope we can download that wonderful soundtrack.
