A Fearless EgyptAir Hostage Grabs A Priceless Photo With The Hijacker

On Tuesday, an EgyptAir flight (en route to Cairo) nearly ended in tragedy after a hijacker took the plane off course. Yet the crew and passengers landed safely and without further incident. A suspect, Seif Eldin Mustafa, was swiftly taken into custody, and although he possessed a criminal record, he reportedly acted out of distress over his ex-wife. He wore a fake explosive belt, which makes for a bizarre story but much better than any alternative. A man who terrorized a plane for six hours simply shuffled off into the custody after a brief tarmac standoff.

A few hours earlier (and once the terror within the plane subsided), a British bloke named Ben Innes could not resist nabbing an in-flight memento. He sidled over to the hijacker and passed his phone to a game photographer. And why not? After one has gripped the seat rests and feared for their life, one may as well nab a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Innes reportedly sent texts to his friends that read, “You know your boy doesn’t f*ck about. Turn on the news lad!!!” Mustafa looks perplexed. Dude can’t figure out why he’s posing for a happy photo.

Here’s a close-up of the priceless photo that will hopefully never be recreated.
