Free Comic Book Day Preview: The Gold Books

Free Comic Book Day is tomorrow, which also happens to be Cinco De Mayo, so you should celebrate the Gamma Squad way: get wasted and read comics.
Of course, that’s every Saturday here, but it’s nice that for once, a fair chunk of America will be joining us.
Anyway, what goodies can you expect from your FLCS? We break them down issue by issue under the jump. We’ll break out the Gold books under the jump.
As always, call your shop to see what they’re getting: not every shop will have all these books.

We’re torn because we hate this decimal crap, but hey, it’s the Avengers. Brian Michael Bendis and Bryan Hitch are on this one, so at least the art will look good.
It’s got Sergio Aragones. And that epic cover. That’s pretty much all you need to know.
It’s got a new Geoff Johns story in it, so it’ll be worth reading at least once.
Image previews six of its upcoming books. Hey, Image, MORE BULLETPROOF COFFIN.
Archie reprints the first issue of their Mega Man series.
Yep, you read that right: Archaia is pulling out all the stops and handing out free hardcovers. And it’s all new material as well, so if you’re a Mouse Guard fan, you might want to get to the FLCS early.
This is probably worth getting just for the Adventure Time story, but BOOM! does a good job of being faithful to the properties it options.
They might as well have just titled this one “Nerdgasm”.
According to IDW, this takes over exactly where the old Marvel “Transformers” series left off. Complete with the same creative team, no less.
I certainly don’t watch this show on a regular basis, and have no plans to pick this up*
*Until no one is looking.
