Good News For Bad Guys, Chipotle Has Banned Guns From All Of Their Stores

Following a recent spat with gun rights advocates in Texas, Chipotle has put it’s foot down on bringing guns into their restaurants. I guess this is something that needed to happen, especially when people are bringing assault rifles into a fast food eatery to prove a point. From Huffington Post:

Chipotle is asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores after it says gun rights advocates brought military-style assault rifles into one of its restaurants in Texas.

The Denver-based company notes that it has traditionally complied with local laws regarding open and concealed firearms.

But in a statement Monday, the company said that “the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers.”

The announcement came after a petition by Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which has called on other companies to ban firearms in their stores as well. The group said its petition was in reaction to open-carry gun activists appearing at a Dallas-area Chipotle restaurant over the weekend.

It just sort of boggles my mind that gun activists would choose Chipotle of all places to show their rights off. I have no qualms with the gun owning burrito lovers of society and I’m not riding hard for a ban. But is it possible to leave the firearm in the vehicle for the ten minutes you’re in the restaurant?

Unless this is Jaurez and it’s delivery day, I think you’ll be alright for the duration of your meal. The only time I think you’ll need to brandish the gun is when you’re faced with a silent alien invasion. I’ll let Roddy Piper take it from there.
