Humans Are Going To Look Like Terrifying LSD Freaks In 100,000 Years, Says Science

Artist and researcher Nickolay Lamm has partnered with a computational geneticist to research and illustrate what we might look like 20,000 years in the future, as well as 60,000 years and 100,000 years out.

Lamm says this is “one possible timeline,” where, thanks to zygotic genome engineering technology, our future selves would have the ability to control human biology and human evolution in much the same way we control electrons to power our world today. (Via)

This is going to destroy the profitable googly eyes business, to say nothing of what would happen if Future Humans were to try Space LSD. Would their face explode, unable to contain the dilation of the pupils? In my scientific opinion: most certainly yes. AND YET, there are quacks who disagree with mine and Lamm’s evaluations:

Forbes staffer Matthew Herper calls the prediction “science fiction that belongs in the same category as the big-headed aliens from the first Star Trek pilot.” Mr. Herper conducted a Twitter survey of some geneticists, one of whom dismissed Dr. Kwan’s work as “horsesh*t.” (Via)

You can’t spell “science fiction” without science. Think about that, poindexter.
