For some reason, I always thought that your vehicle was a relatively safe place to be during a thunderstorm, because rubber has very low electrical conductivity. Apparently, that is not true, according to a cursory Google search — and also this video taken in Melbourne, Australia, in which a minivan gets absolutely hammered as it passes through the middle of an intersection. Because, of course, where else would this happen other than Australia? Even the lightning is more terrifying over there.
