Instagram Users Are Pissed That A Photo Of A Nude Breastfeeding Mom Doing Yoga Was Removed

When you’re a baby, everywhere you go is a nude resort (especially food courts, where every third toddler is crawling around on the floor, picking up fries and straw wrappers as they go). For adults, though, we have to wait until we’re told, “It’s OK to Porky Pig it here.” Lucky babies. When Amy Woodruff visited a clothing-optional commune in Hawaii with her husband and baby, she went all-in and did yoga in the nude while breastfeeding her son.

A photo of the act was uploaded to Instagram, and that’s where the trouble began. Especially for the baby, who’s going to be hearing about this for the rest of his life.

One short week after we met Naked Breast-feeding Yoga Mom, the hippie-fabulous, clothing-optional earth mama has been locked out of Instagram. Baby Center blogger Sara McGinnis reports that Amy “tells me all of her photos are gone and her account has been locked with no explanation from the image-sharing site.”

McGinnis believes Amy’s @DaughterOfTheSun account fell into peril “after curious folks worldwide saw the ‘breastfeeding yoga mom’ photo” and objected, perhaps, to her sometimes nude splendor. (Though breast-feeding photos are allowed on Instagram, nudity is generally frowned upon.) Her fans have started a hashtag, #SaveDaughterOfTheSun, and they are uploading pictures of Amy, pictures of breast-feeding, and a Photoshopped reinvention of her famous naked breast-feeding yoga picture. They’ve never met, but this kid already has a trusted ally in the Time Magazine breastfeeder.
