Kendrick Lamar Feat. Young Jeezy – “Westside, Right On Time”

October 2nd can’t come soon enough. The road to Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city is looking more glorious by the day. Here, we get an unexpected collaboration with Young Jeezy that sees the trapstar drop one of his best verses in a while. But let’s not get it twisted. K. Dot is the star here. Even when he simplifies the flow to make it a bit more accessible, he’s still out of this world with it.

I’d be remiss to say that the unspoken (literally) highlight is Canei Finch’s soulful beat. It’s unclear if this song will make the album or sit on the cutting room floor, but it wouldn’t be bad to hear more Jeezy/K. Dot collaborations in the future.

We didn’t skip TDE’s fan appreciation week as much as we figured it would be easier to wait and bundle all the tracks. So along with ScHoolBoy Q’s “Party” banger, here are the two other tunes we didn’t post: Ab-Soul’s “Nibiru,” produced by JMSN, and Jay Rock’s “YOLA,” produced by Dave Free.

And, as always, everything TDE comes Mixed By Ali.
