Kevin Garnett: “This Is My Last All-Star Game”

If Kevin Garnett’s words are to be taken at face value, the NBA is about to get a lot less filled with trash talk. In an interview following Wednesday night’s 71-69 win over the Chicago Bulls, Garnett spoke about the All-Star game, claiming that it would be his last. The following exchange occurred between KG and the press:

KG: “This is definitely my last All-Star Game.”

Reporter: “Why do you say that it will be your last All-Star Game?

KG: ”Why not?”

Reporter: “Because you have two years left on your contract.”

KG: “Ya’ll don’t know what I know.”

Interpret that how you will. One of the league’s only remaining post-MJ, pre-LeBron superstars, it will be a sad day when the Big Ticket isn’t making ESPN highlights, whether that be for a spectacular play, yelling at a teammate or getting HYPED. His play and presence make the league a more enjoyable entity, so the longer he puts off this decision, the better.
