Jason Bateman And Will Arnett Are In Search Of The Identity Of The 21st Century Man With ‘Mansome’

I normally wouldn’t post the trailer to a Morgan Spurlock documentary here because that’s not really what we do. Also because Super Size Me turning that guy into a famous documentary filmmaker irritates the hell out of me. But Mansome is intriguing. It’s produced by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett (who make appearances along with Paul Rudd, Zack Galifianakis, and several other dudes I’d like to have a beer with) and covers the subject of male identity in the 21st century, something we kinda/sorta inadvertently touch on all the time here with our idolization of Ron Swanson.

Nick Offerman doesn’t make an appearance as far as I’m aware but if Spurlock is smart he’s included a whole segment dedicated to the adoration of the Parks and Rec character and how it reflects a cultural backlash against the passive protagonists and metropolitan males we’ve had shoved down our throats over the last decade plus.

And if not, you’ve at least got Bateman/Arnett banter, Paul Rudd saying “Aqua Velva” over and over, and Galifianikis opining on where he scores on a 1-10 handsome scale. All of which to me sounds highly more watchable than some dude getting unhealthy eating McDonald’s every meal. Like that’s a shocking cultural revelation. Trailer below.
