Mark Ruffalo Talks About A Hulk Spin-Off, Promises More Science Bros

Mark Ruffalo confirmed to Digital Spy today that Marvel is entertaining the idea of a Hulk standalone movie.

“I think they are, for the first time, entertaining the idea of it. When we did The Avengers it was basically ‘No!’, and now there is some consideration for it. But there’s still nothing definitive, not even a skeletal version of what it would be. I look forward to going down that road, if we could crack that nut.”

In the past, Ruffalo has said he’d love to do a standalone Hulk movie, particularly with an environmentalist bent (big fracking surprise). Previously, Joss Whedon has talked about the complications of making a Hulk movie, breaking it down as difficult to structure because “half of it’s a superhero, half of it’s a werewolf”. The only one who’s claimed a Hulk standalone is likely to happen is Lou Ferrigno, and we were skeptical at the time.

As an added bonus, Ruffalo also informs us The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will have “some cool Science Bros stuff… very cool stuff.” Yes, Ruffalo is a fan of the Science Bros meme, even going so far as to recently tweet a photo of himself and Robert Downey Jr with the caption “Bros“.

What a time to be alive.
