Meet The Florida Reptile Shop Owner Who Slapped His Employees With A Bearded Dragon

Benjamin Siegel of Delray Beach, Florida used to be known as the neighborhood reptile guy. Now he’s known as the neighborhood slap-you-with-a-bearded-dragon guy because, you know, bearded dragons are totally up for that. They’d rather not do the slapping themselves because, as their bearded hipster human counterparts would argue, actual slapping is so last year:

According to a Broward Sheriff’s Office arrest report, Benjamin Siegel, 40, owner of Ben Siegel Reptiles Inc. in Delray Beach, was arrested on battery and cruelty to animal charges on Friday after he allegedly hit some of his employees with a live lizard multiple times.

The report says the incident was caught on a store surveillance camera. (Via)

That’s right, folks. What follows was captured on camera. Unfortunately, the authorities have not released the footage to the public. In the meantime, here’s a glorious description of this assh*le in action:

According to the report, Siegel threw the large lizard into the air and swung it around multiple times.

“The defendant did unnecessarily torment the animal, handling the animal in a cruel and/or inhumane manner and intentionally committed an act to the animal which results in excessive and repeated infliction of unnecessary pain or suffering to the animal,” the report says. (Via)

There’s also the harm inflicted on the people Siegel allegedly HIT IN THE FACE WITH A BEARDED DRAGON. Sounds like someone was trying a bit too hard to be Khaleesi.
