Robert De Niro Pulled A Bill Murray And Crashed A Stranger’s World Cup Party

Robert De Niro was in Brooklyn filming a movie earlier today, and like any good American, he wanted to watch the World Cup match between U-S-A U-S-A U-S-A and Germany. But rather than hide away in his Titanic trailer with a TV the size of James Cameron’s ego, he instead got Warner Bros. to ask residents of the neighborhood if he could watch the game with them. He’s like a less random Bill Murray.

“Our lead actor, Robert DeNiro, would very much like to watch the World Cup game, today at 12p,” the email said. “Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?”

According to the neighbor, De Niro apparently ended up getting invited to a nearby house where people were watching the game. (Via)

De Niro: “Excuse me, sir, would you mind turning up the TV?”
Brooklyn Wiseguy: “Come again?”
De Niro: “Could you turn up the TV? I can’t hear anything.”
Brooklyn Wiseguy: “Oh, you talking to me?”

R.I.P. Brooklyn Wiseguy.
