A Utah woman preparing a meal for the elderly along with a teen church youth group made a disgusting discovery this week, when she found the severed head of a snake that had come from a can of Western Family green beans. Unfortunately, it wasn’t just one can, but a whole crock pot full, so the entire thing had to be thrown out in the event that other, uh, snake parts might be floating around.

“It looked pretty much like a burnt bean. And then as I got closer to lift it off the spoon, I saw eyes. … That’s when I just dropped it and screamed,” said Troy Walker, who spotted the snake head when the group was lifting beans out of a slow cooker.

Walker then returned all 30 (!!!) cans back to the grocery store she purchased them at, which has since pulled all of the cans of Western Family green beans in stock along with several other stores in the area. Honestly, though, if we’re gonna be real about it, canned green beans are an abomination, and does an errant snake head here or there really make it that much worse? That snake actually kind of saved a bunch of old people from soggy, flavorless, pasty vegetables that night.
