One of the very few things that used to bother me about Batman as a kid was the Batarang — the name implies it’s supposed to be a bat-themed boomerang, but it didn’t look like a boomerang, and it never came back after it was thrown. Boomerangs are supposed to come back! It’s the whole point! So yes, I was a pedantic jerk even as a kid.
But wait, a dude named Victor Poulin (who creates all sorts of neat throwable s–t) went and made a real, functional Batarang. It’s much larger than the Batarangs Batman throws, but this Batarang actually works, sailing far off into the distance then returning right to Victor’s hand…
