The 12 Nerdsongs of Christmas

There’s a lot of things that can be incredibly annoying on Christmas. Bell-ringers. People who dress as “sexy Santa”, which is an incredibly disturbing image. Office parties that don’t have alcohol, which is why we use the following punch recipe: Pour rum into bowl, add rum until bowl is full.
But probably the most annoying is the music. It’d be one thing if Christmas music was a deep and varied genre, and every year brought new Christmas songs for us to enjoy. But instead it’s the same old crap year in and year out. Just like everything else, radio has a carefully planned playlist of maybe a dozen songs that you’ll hear hundreds of times between November 1st and, frustratingly, January 1st.
So, we’ve got a few songs that might be useful to play. Or at least offer some variety.

Finally, killer robots for Christmas!

You knew Weird Al was making this list.

Lovecraft meets Christmas Carols: an entire musical genre, actually.

Yes, we chose this for the WoW animation.

We don’t fully “get” wizard rock, but it was either this or “Seasonal Depression”, which really lives up to the title.

Because there’s nothing like a song about overwork and pain.

If for no other reason than this was the theme song “Silent Night, Deadly Night” should have had.

Yes, this exists. It isn’t a joke. They sold this in stores. Well, they tried.

The great part about this one is that if you don’t know French, it just sounds like a Middle Ages Christmas song. As you may have guessed from the title, it’s not.

It just isn’t Christmas without puns.

Realistically, we could have just said “all of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas'” and called it a day, but this is arguably one of the most catchy tunes, and frankly, Christmastime needs more songs about abduction and torture.
