The Best Of Gallery 1988’s Garbage Pail Kids Exhibit

We recently took a few in-depth looks at the “Please Post Bills” exhibit at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles, which honored probably the greatest actor and coolest man to ever walk the Earth, Bill Murray. Dozens of artists contributed incredible fan art and the world finally took one step closer to building that giant gold statue of Murray that I’ve been suggesting for years now. The Holy Temple of Peter Venkman isn’t going to build itself, people!
But as cool as the Please Post Bills exhibit was, there was another exhibit back in September that I unfortunately never heard about, because the subject would have caused my inner child to squeal with delight and put on a few slap bracelets. Gallery 1988 hosted a Garbage Pail Kids tribute show, at which a bunch of artists contributed their very own GPK card artwork, and it was spectacular.
Gallery 1988 still has prints available for purchase – although I’m not sure the Lady Burnsy will appreciate our living room wall being plastered with Trashy Ashley and Bloggy Bobby – but after the jump I have some of the incredible contributions that will hopefully conjur up some nostalgia for us all.
