This Florida Principal Was Allegedly Caught In A Car With A Student With Weed, Shirt Unbuttoned

Here’s a new one, courtesy of Florida. While we regularly hear of teachers engaged in inappropriate behavior with students, this high school principal, 45-year-old Krista Morton of Mavericks High School in North Palm Beach, was arrested last Wednesday after cops approached her parked car which they claimed smelled of marijuana following a 9-1-1 call about possible sexual activity.

Once police knocked on the window, the Palm Beach Post reports that they found Morton with an unnamed 18-year-old, with her shirt unbuttoned “exposing her shoulders and part of her chest,” and a plastic container with marijuana.

Morton first told officers that she and the student were “just friends,” an arrest report stated. Then cops say she claimed he was a stranger she had picked up off the street because she was lonely.

Later, the 18-year-old student admitted to cops that Morton was the principal of his school.

Both Morton and the student were arrested on marijuana possession charges. Morton spent the night in jail and was released [Friday] morning, jail records show.

Would this be poor timing to make a “puts the ‘pal’ in principal” joke? Probably. Morton has been suspended from her job pending the outcome of the investigation.
