Because it’s summer and nothing’s going on, so screw it: Someone posted an old Rolling Stone article in Reddit’s “Today I Learned” section about the engagement of Carey Mulligan and Marcus Mumford in 2011 — and that the two went all the way back as pre-fame childhood penpals before reuniting as adults and marrying in 2012. Well that makes two of us, although I actually didn’t even know they were married in the first place so now I know TWO new things. In your face, Reddit dude!
Though the two only recently began a romantic relationship, Mulligan and Mumford were actually pen pals as children in London and fell in love after getting back in touch for the first time in years. “They’re a great couple,” a friend told Us Weekly. “Very sweet.”
That is the most hipster love story I have ever heard in my entire life. How this has yet to be made into an indie love story flick starring Carey Mulligan with soundtrack by Mumford and Sons is completely beyond me.
