We're Sure You're Heartbroken "Green Hornet 2" Isn't Happening

“The Green Hornet” was something of a missed opportunity. Michel Gondry, Seth Rogen, Christoph Waltz…really, something more interesting should have come out of it. But it was popular enough that it made $250 million worldwide, meaning it broke even in theaters and thus everything else is pure profit. So, sequel, right?

Not according to the producer.

The bad news is that this is because of accounting, and the producer, Neal Moritz, is actually pretty unpleasantly candid about why he’s turning out movies like “21 Jump Street” instead of movies that people might actually remember beyond next week, and that’s because Hollywood views anything original as “clutter”. We assure you, that’s an exact quote.

This plus the tanking of John Carter do not make us particularly excited for Hollywood’s upcoming slate of “product”.

Unless it’s “Battleship”.
