This ‘Jurassic Park’ Art Show Puts The Focus Back On The People

Brandon Bird and Julia Vickerman spared no expense when curating The JP Show (Just People) at Nucleus in Los Angeles last weekend. The Jurassic Park fan art exhibited was “dedicated to what people love and remember most about the Jurassic Park film series: the human characters.” Yep. That’s what we remember. Forget about those velociraptors. They’ve got a kid who can hack computers. Need a UNIX system fixed? She knows this!
Anyway, I was a little let down by the lack of dinosaurs, but changed my mind when I saw the piece by John Larriva above. This 12″ x 9″ oil on panel is titled “Ian Malcolm: From Chaos” and already sold for $500, but there are still prints for sale. Art, uh . . . finds a way.
On the next pages you’ll find several works from the exhibit with identification card details provided by Brandon Bird.
