Last March Swedish graphic designer Viktor Hertz whipped up a re-imagined “Cat Videos” logo for YouTube along with a handful of other literal interpretations of famous logos for what would become his ongoing art series, Honest Logos. He dropped several new installments prior to the new year — most of which work thanks to Homer reminding me, “It’s funny ’cause it’s true” every time I look at one — and I’ve been meaning to get to his work so here you go.
Graphic design. Pop culture commentary. The ability to read “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” pre-translation. We’ve got quite the renaissance man on our hands. I’ve included my favorites/the most applicable of Hertz’s work here (I’ll never quit you and my glittery background, Myspace). You can check out the entire collection on Flickr.
