We were going to make fun of the idea of a pheromone spray for gamers, the subculture least likely to get any before they get out of college. Then we actually went to the site and saw that they had a comic of Adrienne Curry, one of several models currently trying to win the title of “Most Beloved Gamer Boobs” before crossing over into actual modeling and ignoring the nerds entirely, as Pepper Spray Cop hosing down a bunch of anti-sex protesters.
We’re not joking. This has to be some of the most tone-deaf marketing we’ve seen short of Pete Hoekstra
Instead we’ll just say that there’s a reason these things are advertised pretty much exclusively in the back of Maxim and Men’s Health (that reason being that the science surrounding pheromones is at best inconclusive), and aimed squarely at the sore spot of a demographic with a lot of cash to burn. In other words, it’s the kind of industry you’d expect to miss the point of Pepper Spray Cop.
