I don’t plan to do a lot of research on the subject, so for all I know any sped down female rapper sounds just like Jay-Z. All I do know is that the six month-old video of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” slowed down has just been unearthed by Vice and makes for some fun early week conspiracy theory-ing.
I’m not exactly sure what the conspiracy theories are, but I’m sure people will come up with some. Like, at the height of his rapping prowess, was Jay-Z able to churn out so many albums thanks to his dungeon full of fast-rapping ladies he slowed down for his tracks? Or did a producer years ago speed up “99 Problems” and inspire the female act idea that later became Nicki Minaj? Do I personally think it all boils down to a strange plot to pass off Jay-Z’s midget impersonator as a female backup dancer in a music video? Who knows?
Until we have more information I suggest none of you think to hard on this and take the simple premise for the enjoyable viewing/listening it was originally intended. Leave the dwarf hypothesizing to me.
