5 Quick Questions With A Random Female Comic-Con Cosplayer

While waiting in line to wait in another line at San Diego Comic-Con earlier, we noticed a young woman wearing a costume that was attracting the attention of men and young children alike. But mostly men. So we went over to the object of Comic-Con’s affection, an ex-Disneyland employee who was wearing an outfit of her own design (and will soon start her own website, Cosplay Cakes), and asked her a few quick questions.

How many photo requests have you had today?

At least one hundred, and I’ve only been here for a few hours.

What’s the weirdest request you’ve had?

The weirdest thing was this one guy bugging me to marry him. What was I supposed to tell him? “I’m taken by the Heavens”?…Some other guy tried to cover me in kisses, too.

How long did it take you to prepare the costume?

Two hours, but I’ve been dressing up at conventions for 10 years now, so I’m used to it.

What’s your go-to pose?

Evil, but sweet.

Do you still enjoy doing this after a decade?

I love it. I love when kids come up to me and ask for an autograph.
