We recently saw the conclusion of the long strange trip that was Charles Carreon suing The Oatmeal, aka Matthew Inman. Along the way we met Carreon’s trolling wife, read some of his bad poetry, and saw a woman romance a bear.
But this is how it ends: with a gigantic bag of cash.
This is actually Inman’s own money, withdrawn from his account. Yeah, he can just withdraw $200,000 or so from his bank account — apparently making webcomics about grammar is the secret to financial success. To get around some of Carreon’s legal wrangling, the Oatmeal asked that the money be sent directly to the charities. This cash is just to rub it into Carreon’s face that he lost.
But we’re looking forward to the inevitable attempt to try and drag Inman into this legal black hole. Really, it’s just a matter of time.
