Tom Hardy’s Bane Voice Sounds A LOT Like Zazu’s From ‘The Lion King’

Now that we know where Heath Ledger got his Tom Waits-indebted Joker voice from, it’s time to move onto Tom Hardy’s Bane. In interviews, Hardy has said he was inspired by Bartley Gorman, an Irish bare-knuckle boxer who was nicknamed “King of the Gypsies,” much to Bob Hoskins’s dismay. Poppycock, says I.

He OBVIOUSLY, as one crafty Redditor discovered, got the voice from what Zazu sounded like after Simba and Nala sang “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and a rhino sat on him in The Lion King. That makes more sense (go to 3:23).
