A Facebook Photo Of A (Fake) Winning Powerball Ticket Has Been Shared 2 Million Times

Oh, Internet, will you ever learn? If a photo seems to good to be true, it’s probably too good to be true, unless it’s this photo of a seal evading a shark. That’s just metal. Anyway, professional liar Nolan Daniels, which sounds like the name of one of James Bond’s bosses, shared the picture you see above a few days ago, claiming, “Looks like I won’t be going to work EVER!!!! Share this photo and I will give a random person 1 million dollars!”

It’s, alas, a poorly Photoshopped fake (never trust a man whose collars are dangerously close to be popped), but that hasn’t stopped over two million people from sharing the picture, with 22,000 comments and counting to boot. Sample comment: “Enjoy your life, share your good fortune with the ones u love, and know this happened for a reason. No matter who u pick, your doing a great thing by paying it forward. Good luck to all.” And so on.

How dare you get up the hopes of Pay It Forward fans everywhere, Nolan Daniels. Take it away, Built to Spill.
