We’ve seen 8-bit versions of Community, Mad Men, even Downton Abbey. Now, we can add Nicolas Winding Refn’s Drive to the list of games that we wish were real.
GundersonMunderson created a 9-bit start page for the Sega Genesis. He even used “an emulator for the Yamaha YM2612, the chip used to create the sound” for the original console to recreate College & Electric Youth’s “A Real Hero.” It’s a real shame you can’t press start on this one.
Another version was made a while back. The creator imagined the movie as an 8-bit game for Nintendo. The quality is not as great but the added bonus is catching a glimpse of Ryan Gosling’s character, The Driver.
I don’t know about you, but I would buy it if someone actually put out a video game version of this movie.
