Patton Oswalt’s Fake Movie Ideas On Twitter Sound Better Than Most Real Movies

Judging by the Twitter response it’s received from critics covering the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, 12 Years a Slave has already won the Oscar for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Director, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, probably. The movie, about a free black man who’s sold into slavery, is being compared to Schindler’s List, and the word “transcendent” has come up more than once.

It sounds amazing, but not AS amazing as Batman Takes the Stairs, a “Mumblecore superhero film [that] revives the genre. Starring the Duplass Brothers as Batman.” That future masterpiece comes courtesy of Twitter hero Patton Oswalt, who’s spent much of today pitching fake #TIFF13 movies. I want them all to be real.
