The famous car chase scene from The Blues Brothers, which I hear is what Blues Brothers 2000 is based on, was filmed at the abandoned Dixie Square Mall in Harvey, Illinois. It closed in 1978, a year before John Belushi snorted coke off its dusty floors, probably, and was eventually demolished…in 2012. Apparently a school district tried to sue Universal at one point, “citing damage to mall property created during the movie shoot,” but it was all worth it, because now we have LEGO versions of Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, and a whole lot of fake glass.
I wonder if you can stash coke in LEGO John Belushi’s hat…?
