If Peeing Your Pants During A Campaign Speech Is Cool, Then Consider Juan Manuel Santos Miles Davis

I believe that it was John F. Kennedy who said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country, and don’t ever drink a lot of water before a big speech, especially if you’re wearing plain front khakis.” Not verbatim, but it was something along those lines. Either way, Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos never heard that quote, because he did the exact opposite on Sunday, when he gave a very impassioned speech to launch his campaign for re-election.

While most great speakers and leaders won’t ever stop when they’re on a roll, you’ll see around the :20 mark that sometimes it’s okay to say, “Hey guys, I’m gonna take a quick break and we’ll pick up from here in just a few.” As Santos continues his fiery speech, the spot on the front of his pants simply grows larger, and maybe that’s just a sign of great leadership in other cultures. Maybe our politicians are letting us down by not peeing their pants on the campaign trail. It certainly has to be better than constantly spewing bullsh*t.
